A former actor, Melinda has a wonderful presence in front of an audience, speaking with a candor that many people find both refreshing and rare.   Melinda's story offers strength and empathy to survivors of sexual abuse, inspiration to addicts still struggling with addiction, and hope to the families and loved ones affected by addiction.   Most importantly, Melinda's brutal honesty about her experiences with addiction can serve as a powerful deterrent to kids so that they might avoid taking the same destructive path she took.  If Melinda can deter one person from addiction or inspire one person to change the direction of her or his life, then going public with her story has served its purpose.   

Melinda is committed to the belief that all addicts deserve a second chance at life that she was fortunate enough to receive, and that no person is hopeless or beyond redemption.  Her own story serves as a compelling reminder that it is never too late to change the direction of your life.
